" We have recently moved into our new home in Mentone, built by Guy Cole of Eastside Residential. We are delighted with the house and thoroughly enjoyed the process of both planning and then building with Guy.

Having reached retirement age, our aim was to build a home in which we can live in comfort for this next stage of our life. We were not interested in "downsizing", rather in building a comfortable minimum maintenance home.

The process was complicated, as initially we had 3 options.. demolish and rebuild an investment property, buy a new property to demolish and rebuild, or demolish and rebuild our current home. Here we experienced the first difference between Guy and other builders. We spent about 18 months making a decision on one of the 3 options. Guy was involved from the start and advised us through the process as we looked at each. At no stage was there a guarantee we would do anything.

We made the decision to demolish and rebuild our current home. We had a good idea on what we wanted. Again, Guy then helped us in the process and we got the design we wanted early in the initial drawings stage.

In the process of planning the build and preparing a budget and timeline, Guy made  it  simple. He was totally transparent and accessible. By the time the build started, we knew exactly what we were getting, what it would cost and how long it would take. Throughout the build, we had regular budget and time line meetings. Any issues that occurred during  the build were quickly addressed and resolved. The outcome...a build on budget and on time.

In terms of the house, we could not be happier with the quality. As we were living close by during the build and we had a lot of contact with the tradesmen. We could not fault any part of the build. It should be noted that they were not always the cheapest quotes, but, in all cases, their work was excellent. They had all worked on many builds with Guy, and understood his attention to detail and no compromising on quality. In any build, there is also the tedious process of selecting fixtures and fittings etc. Guy's suppliers were great and helped us through the process. All of this contributed to an on time and on budget outcome!

We did the landscaping ourselves and arranged our own contractors. Again, Guy was happy to lend advice although not part of his brief.

In summary, we cannot recommend Guy and Eastside Residential highly enough. He put up with our long and drawn out planning and then built us a high quality home that has exceeded all of our expectations. Feel free to contact us..."
